J. K. Rowling: from 'cafes' to fortune

"In the times in which she lived in Porto and drank 'cimbalinos' in
Majestic Café, J. K. Rowling was far from imagining that one day would become richer than the Queen of England itself. According to the annual list of U.S. magazine 'Forbes', the British writer is the second richest woman in the world in the area of 'showbiz' (after the unbeatable Oprah Winfrey).
And a portuguese' girlfriend, it was in Porto that Rowling has begun to draft the 'vein of gold' that would make her a millionaire. 'Harry Potter' earned her a personal fortune estimated by 'Forbes' in over one billion dollars (732 million euros) and, therefore, now that the ultimate book (the seventh) of the story is to hit the shelves - 'Harry Potter and the Deathtly Hallows' comes out on June 21 - it is not surprising that she will say that she cried while writing it. Since 1997, the six Potter adventures have sold more than 325 million copies and the four movies yielded at Warner 3.5 billion dollars."
